Regular Season Round 12: Crnomelj - Slovan 67-79

Bottom-ranked Slovan managed to get a third victory, breaking the three-game losing streak on Saturday night. This time they won against eighth-ranked Crnomelj 79-67. The game was mostly controlled by Slovan. Crnomelj managed to win second period 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Slovan dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Crnomelj's 20. They outrebounded Crnomelj 41-22 including a 33-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Matija Vravnik (198-92) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Milan Kovacevic (200-96) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Slovan's coach Gregor Hafnar used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Andrej Henigman (198-92) who recorded 20 points and Martin Mezan (197-93) added 16 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Slovan (3-9) moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Hrastnik. Loser Crnomelj dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Slovan will meet at home higher ranked Plama Pur (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Crnomelj will play against the league's second-placed Terme Olimia (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
