Regular Season Round 16: Speyer - Leipzig 83-71

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Speyer (4-12) defeated at home higher ranked USC Leipzig (8-8) 83-71 on Saturday. Quite impressive performance for American center Khobi Williamson (201-92, college: Hampden-Sydney) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. The other American import guard DJ Woodmore (190-92, college: Va.Wesleyan) contributed with 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Sascha Leutloff (202-82) replied with 23 points and 9 rebounds and American power forward Julian Scott (203-90, college: Adams St.) added 16 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for USC Leipzig. Speyer maintains twelfth position in South with 4-12 record. USC Leipzig lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with eight games lost. Speyer will face higher ranked Elchingen (#5) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. USC Leipzig will play against Saarlouis and hope to win that game.
