Regular Season Round 19: Bakken - Svendborg 97-83

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Aarhus. Third ranked Bakken faced 4th placed Svendborg. Host Bakken (13-3) defeated guests from Svendborg (11-10) 97-83. The game was mostly controlled by Bakken. Svendborg was better in second period 28-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Svendborg 37-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for Spanish point guard Carles Bivia (189-85) who led the winners and scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Senegalese center Michel Diouf (208-89) accounted for 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. American guard Brandon Rozzell (188-89, college: VCU) came up with 22 points and 5 steals and Argentinian-Italian point guard Antonio Porta (187-83, agency: Players Group) added 13 points and 7 assists respectively for Svendborg in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Bakken. They moved-up to second place. Svendborg lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourth position with ten games lost. Bakken's next round opponent will be league's leader Horsens IC in Horsens and it will be for sure the game of the week. Svendborg will play on the road against Randers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
