Regular Season Round 16: Weissenhorn - Karlsruhe 80-81

Seventh-ranked Weissenhorn Youngstars (7-9) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked BG Karlsruhe (13-3). The visitors from Karlsruhe managed to secure only one-point victory 81-80. However their fans expected much easier game. Weissenhorn Youngstars were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Hayden Lescault (196-92, college: Point Loma) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 assists and guard Dmitrj Kreis (188-88) who added 16 points during the contest. At the losing side Marvin Omonigho Omuvwie (197-97) responded with 21 points and 4 steals (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and naturalized Austrian point guard David Kramer (191-97) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Weissenhorn Youngstars players scored in double figures. Weissenhorn Youngstars' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. BG Karlsruhe have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of South leader, which they share with Ehingen. Weissenhorn Youngstars lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with nine games lost. They share the position with Dresden and Wuerzburg. BG Karlsruhe will play against Giants (#3) in Noerdlingen in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Weissenhorn Youngstars will play on the road against Licher Basket (#10) and hope to get back on the winning track.
