Regular Season Round 16: Dresden - Elchingen 89-80

There was an upset when higher ranked Elchingen (8-8) lost to ninth ranked Titans (7-9) in Dresden 80-89 on Sunday. Titans made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Elchingen turnovers. Elchingen was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for forward Marc Nagora (203-93) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 8 rebounds. American point guard Randal Holt (185-91, college: Kent St.) contributed with 14 points and 9 assists for the winners. American forward Thomas Spagnolo (201-91, college: Appalachian St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Lorne Jackson (188-90, college: Pepperdine) added 19 points in the effort for Elchingen. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Titans moved-up to seventh place in South, which they share with Weissenhorn and Wuerzburg. Newly promoted Elchingen keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. Titans will face higher ranked Fraport Skyliners II (#4) in Frankfurt in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Elchingen will play at home against Speyer and hope to win that game.
