No shocking result in a game when third ranked Gruner Stern Keltern (13-4) defeated at home 9th ranked TH Wohnbau Angels (4-13) 83-74. The hosts were already 18 points ahead at halftime and as many as 20 after three quarters before a 19-8 last quarter charge of TH Wohnbau Angels cut the lead to 83-74 at the end of the game. American center Stephanie Madden (186-88, college: Langston) nailed 22 points for the winning side and her fellow American import center Camille Mahlknecht (190-93, college: CS Northridge) accounted for 7 points and 10 rebounds. Serbian guard Aleksandra Racic (181-90) came up with 17 points and American guard D'shara Strange (178-91, college: N.Colorado) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for TH Wohnbau Angels in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Gruner Stern Keltern. Newly promoted Gruner Stern Keltern maintains third place with 13-4 record having four points less than leader Wasserburg. TH Wohnbau Angels lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 13 games lost. Gruner Stern Keltern's next round opponent will be Rotenburg/Scheessel (#7) on the road. TH Wohnbau Angels will play against SV Halle Lions and hope to win that game.
