Regular Season Round 19: Benfica - Lusitania 83-65

LPB top team - Benfica (17-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat seventh ranked Lusitania (7-10) 83-65. The game without a history. Benfica led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great evening for American Jeremiah Wilson (205-88, college: Tarleton St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Daequan Cook (195-87, college: Ohio St., agency: Priority Sports) helped adding 14 points and 4 assists. Benfica's coach Carlos Lisboa used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Quinton Upshur (196-93, college: N.Arizona) responded with 23 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Serbian power forward Sasa Borovnjak (206-89, college: Penn St.) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Benfica have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 17-1 record. Lusitania at the other side keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. They share it with Vitoria SC. Benfica will play against Electrico FC (#10) in Ponte de Sor in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lusitania will play at home against Vitoria SC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
