Very predictable result when first ranked Gussing Knights (19-3) beat on the road 9th ranked Gmunden Swans (9-14) 73-67 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 28-19 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Gmunden Swans were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was international point guard Thomas Klepeisz (185-91, agency: HMS) who scored 15 points and 5 assists. American-Ivorian forward Dane Watts (203-86) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Gussing Knights' coach Matthias Zollner used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized German power forward Tilo Klette (206-77) produced 15 points and 9 rebounds and international point guard Daniel Friedrich (181-92) added 17 points and 8 assists respectively for the hosts. Gussing Knights have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 19-3 record. Gmunden Swans at the other side keep the ninth position with 14 games lost. Gussing Knights will face league's second-placed Furstenfeld Panthers at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
