Sixteenth-ranked Istanbul BSB (3-14) made lots of trouble for eighth ranked Demir IBB (8-8) on Saturday. The visitors from Buyukcekmece managed to secure only three-point victory 88-85. However their fans expected much easier game. Istanbul BSB was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Demir IBB made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Demir IBB especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. The best player for the winners was American-Tunisian Michael Roll (197-87, college: UCLA) who scored 25 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. American point guard Erving Walker (173-90, college: Florida, agency: Two Points) chipped in 18 points and 6 assists. Four Demir IBB players scored in double figures. Slovenian guard Jaka Klobucar (198-87) produced 22 points and American point guard Malcolm Armstead (183-89, college: Wichita St., agency: Three Eye Sports) added 19 points and 7 assists respectively for the hosts. Istanbul BSB's coach Ertugrul Erdogan tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Demir IBB maintains eighth place with 8-8 record. Istanbul BSB lost their third game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Demir IBB will face Trabzonspor (#12) at home in the next round. Istanbul BSB will play against Karsiyaka (#5) and hope to win that game.
