Regular Season Round 17: Neuss - Barmer TV 56-50

Date: February 6, 2016
Very expected game when 8th ranked Barmer TV (5-10) lost on the road to second ranked TG Neuss (13-3) 56-50 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Barmer TV won third quarter 15-7. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TG Neuss forced 26 Barmer TV turnovers. American guard Marquita Waller (180-88, college: VCU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 5 rebounds. Canadian guard Karly Roser (178-93, college: Northwestern) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. TG Neuss' coach Janina Pils allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Liz Brown (190, college: Richmond) answered with 7 points and 10 rebounds and Chantal Neuwald (180-95) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Barmer TV. TG Neuss maintains second place in North with 13-3 record having five points less than leader Bad Aibling. Loser Barmer TV keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. TG Neuss will face SG BBZ Opladen (#6) in Leverkusen in the next round. Barmer TV will play at home against Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel and hope to win that game.
