Regular Season Round 18: Saarlouis - Elchingen 69-81

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Elchingen (9-9) defeated on the road 11th ranked Saarlouis (6-12) 81-69. Forward Brian Butler (194-91, agency: Mansfield and Associates) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and American point guard Lorne Jackson (188-90, college: Pepperdine) supported him with 14 points and 6 assists. Four Elchingen players scored in double figures. Even 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists by American guard Ricky Easterling (188-83, college: Bridgewater) did not help to save the game for Saarlouis. Naturalized Bosnian center Muharem Mujkanovic (204-88) added 13 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Elchingen went down to sixth position (South) due to points difference. Saarlouis at the other side dropped to the tenth place with 12 games lost. Elchingen's next round opponent will be league's leader Ehingen/Urspringschule in Allmendingen and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Saarlouis will play on the road against Licher Basket (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
