There was no surprise when 8th ranked Wuerzburg (7-11) was defeated on the road by second ranked BG Karlsruhe (14-4) 72-56. Guard Dmitrj Kreis (188-88) notched a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and American guard Hayden Lescault (196-92, college: Point Loma) supported him with 15 points. Four BG Karlsruhe players scored in double figures. Even 8 points and 11 rebounds by forward Felix Hoffmann (195-89) did not help to save the game for Wuerzburg. Guard Joanic Gruttner Bacoul (195-95) added 6 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. BG Karlsruhe maintains second position in South with 14-4 record behind leader Iserlohn. Wuerzburg lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with 11 games lost. BG Karlsruhe's next round opponent will be USC Leipzig (#5) on the road. Wuerzburg will play against Titans and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
