Regular Season Round 21: Brose Bask. - Walter Tigers 101-64

BBL top team - Brose Baskets (18-2) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed fourteenth ranked Walter Tigers (6-15) in Bamberg 101-64. The game was mostly controlled by Brose Baskets. Walter Tigers managed to win fourth quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Brose Baskets made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. Brose Baskets outrebounded Walter Tigers 34-18 including a 26-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Walter Tigers' players. Slovenian point guard Aleksej Nikolic (190-95) nailed 14 points and 6 assists for the winning side and Italian Nicolo Melli (205-91) accounted for 13 points and 7 rebounds. Four Brose Baskets players scored in double figures. Brose Baskets' coach Andrea Trinchieri felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American swingman Garlon Green (201-91, college: TCU) came up with 18 points and the other American import guard William Buford (196-90, college: Ohio St., agency: Two Points) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively for Walter Tigers in the defeat. Brose Baskets have an impressive series of sixteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 18-2 record. Loser Walter Tigers keep the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. Brose Baskets will meet Crailsheim Merlins (#15) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Walter Tigers will play against ratiopharm Ulm and hope to secure a win.
