Regular Season Round 21: Svendborg - Naestved 88-80

The game between third ranked Naestved (14-8) and fourth ranked Svendborg (13-10) was the most important one in the last round on Tuesday night. Naestved was defeated by Svendborg in a tough game in Svendborg 80-88. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 33-26. But Naestved won second period 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Svendborg forced 20 Naestved turnovers. American guard Brandon Rozzell (188-89, college: VCU) stepped up and scored 39 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals for the winners and swingman Claus Magaard (195-86) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American point guard Troy Franklin (183-89, college: Coppin St.) with 30 points, 7 assists and 5 steals and the other American import guard Caleb Walker (193-89, college: Nebraska) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Naestved's coach Bogdan Karaicic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Svendborg maintains fourth place with 13-10 record. Naestved at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost. Svendborg are looking forward to face Horsholm (#5) on the road in the next round. Naestved will play against SISU and is hoping to win this game.
