Regular Season Round 20: Gediz - Balikesir 76-74

The most exciting game of round 20 in the TBL took place in Gediz. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Balikesir (12-8) to fourth ranked Gediz (15-5) 76-74 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Balikesir. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 21-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Bosnian-Slovenian center Hasan Rizvic (212-84) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 17 rebounds. American point guard Demontez Stitt (187-89, college: Clemson, agency: HMS) contributed with 26 points for the winners. American forward Mike Davis (205-88, college: Illinois) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and power forward Ali Isik (206-90) added 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for Balikesir. Four Balikesir players scored in double figures. Balikesir's coach Mete Babaoglu tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Gediz moved-up to third place. Balikesir at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Gediz are looking forward to face Final Genclik (#16) in Bursa in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Balikesir will play at home against Sakarya BSB (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
