Regular Season Round 19: Rostock - Oldenburg 73-58

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Oldenburg (11-8) against fifth ranked Rostock (12-7) on Saturday night. Visiting Oldenburg was defeated by Rostock in Rostock 73-58. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Oldenburg's 28. It was a great evening for American guard Matthew Hunter (196-90, college: Cent.Conn.St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 5 rebounds. Naturalized Spanish center Daniel Lopez (206-86) helped adding 15 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Rostock players scored in double figures. Rostock's coach Sebastian Wild allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American guard Chris Gorman (180-93, college: Vanguard) responded with 27 points and Stefan Wess (203-94) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Rostock moved-up to third place in North. Oldenburg at the other side dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. They share it with Bochum and Art.Dragons. Rostock will play against league's second-placed Herzoege Wolfenbuettel on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Oldenburg will play against Itzehoe and hopes to get back on the winning track.
