Regular Season Round 19: Stahnsdorf - Wolfenbuettel 70-80

Date: February 13, 2016
Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked RSV Eintracht (6-13) lost to second ranked Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (14-5) in Stahnsdorf 70-80 on Saturday. It was a very good performance for American guard Demetrius Ward (188-90, college: W.Michigan) who helped to win the game recording 28 points. Lars Lagerpusch (203-98) contributed with 21 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Ward is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel's coach Ralf Rehberger used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American center Kenneth Cooper (208-87, college: UAB) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import guard Jackson Capel (191-87, college: Evangel) added 14 points in the effort for RSV Eintracht. Five RSV Eintracht players scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Herzoege Wolfenbuettel. Newly promoted Herzoege Wolfenbuettel maintains second place in North with 14-5 record having just two points less than leader Iserlohn. Loser RSV Eintracht keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel will face Rostock (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. RSV Eintracht will play against SG Schwelmer Baskets (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
