No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Itzehoe (10-9) beat on the road 11th ranked SC Rist Wedel (5-14) 78-73 on Sunday. SC Rist Wedel was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for swingman Adrian Breitlauch (193-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. American power forward Stephan Shepherd (206-92, college: Bened.-Springfield) contributed with 23 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Helge Baues (205-94, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 16 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Isaac Gordon (196-88, college: UTEP) added 15 points and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws) in the effort for SC Rist Wedel. Four SC Rist Wedel players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Itzehoe maintains seventh place in North with 10-9 record. SC Rist Wedel lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Itzehoe will face higher ranked Oldenburg (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SC Rist Wedel will play against Artland Dragons (#6) in Quakenbrueck and hope to win that game.
