Very important is a home loss of third ranked Kirchheim Knights (17-7) against seventh ranked Gladiators (13-11) on Friday night. Host Kirchheim Knights were defeated by Gladiators in Kirchheim 92-82. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Kirchheim Knights. Gladiators players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American forward Dwayne Evans (198-92, college: St.Louis) orchestrated the victory by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Center Justin Raffington (206-91, college: Florida Atlantic) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Gladiators players scored in double figures. American point guard Richard Williams (177-87, college: San Diego St.) answered with 13 points and 6 assists and British forward Keith Rendleman (203-90, college: NC-Wilmington) added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Kirchheim Knights. Kirchheim Knights' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Gladiators moved-up to sixth place. Kirchheim Knights at the other side keep the third position with seven games lost. Gladiators will play against ETB Wohnbau (#14) in Essen in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kirchheim Knights will play on the road against Baunach (#10) and hope to get back on the winning track.
