No shocking result in a game when second ranked TG Neuss (14-4) smashed at home 6th ranked Braunschweig (9-8) 75-56 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by TG Neuss. Braunschweig was better in third quarter 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TG Neuss forced 22 Braunschweig turnovers and outrebounded them 38-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. American guard Marquita Waller (180-88, college: VCU) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Karolin-Ivonn Tzokov (180-99) chipped in 15 points. TG Neuss' coach Janina Pils used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Lara Muller (178-97) produced 14 points and forward Lena Hoffarth (181-89, college: Lees-McRae) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. TG Neuss maintains second place in North with 14-4 record having six points less than leader Bad Aibling. Loser Braunschweig dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost.
