Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Itzehoe (10-10) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Oldenburg (12-8) 90-79 on Saturday. Itzehoe was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Jan Niklas Wimberg (206-96) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 7 rebounds and guard Dominic Lockhart (198-94) who added 13 points during the contest. Four Oldenburg players scored in double figures. Point guard Flavio Stueckemann (187-85) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds and American power forward Stephan Shepherd (206-92, college: Bened.-Springfield) scored 20 points. Oldenburg moved-up to third place in North, which they share with Bochum and Rostock. Loser Itzehoe keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Oldenburg will face SG Schwelmer Baskets (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Itzehoe will play against Hertener Loewen (#10) and hope to win that game.
