Regular Season Round 24: Finke Baskets - Vechta 74-95

Very predictable result when second ranked SC Rasta Vechta (19-3) rolled over 13th ranked Finke Baskets (8-16) in Paderborn 95-74. The game was mostly controlled by SC Rasta Vechta. Finke Baskets was better in fourth quarter 22-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. SC Rasta Vechta dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Finke Baskets' 28 and made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. SC Rasta Vechta players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Chase Griffin (188-83, college: Pepperdine) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import point guard Carlos Medlock (183-87, college: E.Michigan) who added 14 points and 7 assists during the contest. Four SC Rasta Vechta players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Chase Adams (177-88, college: Pittsburgh) with 12 points and 5 assists and swingman Phillip Daubner (203-94) scored 19 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. SC Rasta Vechta have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 19-3 record having 2 victories less than leader Jena. Finke Baskets at the other side keep the thirteenth place with 16 games lost. SC Rasta Vechta will play against BV Chemnitz 99 (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Finke Baskets will play against Bayer Giants (#15) in Leverkusen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
