Regular Season Round 19: Rilski - Cherno More 110-85

Rather expected game in Samokov where 5th ranked Cherno More (10-9) was rolled over by third ranked Rilski (13-6) 110-85. The game without a history. Rilski led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Rilski outrebounded Cherno More 44-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three nailing 19 long-distance shots on high 57.6 percentage. Rilski players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a very good performance for the former international guard Zlatin Georgiev (197-85) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 4 assists (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). American power forward Tony Gugino (207-86, college: Hillsdale) contributed with 23 points for the winners. The former international forward Simeon Iliev (204-89, agency: Interperformances) answered with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds and guard Stanislav Tsonkov (192-91) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Cherno More. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Rilski. They maintain third place with 13-6 record having five points less than leader Lukoil Acad., which they share with Beroe. Cherno More at the other side keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with Spartak Pleven. Rilski will play against league's second-placed Balkan in Botevgrad in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cherno More will play at home against Spartak Pleven and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
