Regular Season Round 16: Crnomelj - Branik 94-81

The most important game in the last round took place in Crnomelj between second ranked Branik (10-6) and ninth ranked Crnomelj (7-8) on Saturday night. Branik was defeated by Crnomelj on the road 94-81. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Branik. The game was mostly controlled by Crnomelj. Branik managed to win fourth quarter 12-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Branik outrebounded Crnomelj 37-24 including 23 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Guard Matic Lozar (183-92) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Crt Ristic (180-89) chipped in 20 points and 7 assists. Four Crnomelj players scored in double figures. Naturalized Italian center Davor Barovic (211-90) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and swingman Marko Cej (192-88) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Crnomelj moved-up to eighth place. Newly promoted Branik keeps the second position with six games lost. They share it with Triglav. Crnomelj are looking forward to face Parklji (#9) in Bezigrad in the next round. Branik will play at home against Plama Pur (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
