Regular Season Round 29: UBSC Graz - Gmunden 74-93

The game with biggest result difference took place in Graz. Local UBSC Graz (9-20) was outscored by ninth ranked Gmunden Swans (12-17) 93-74. It looked good early as UBSC Graz took a 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Gmunden Swans had a 28-11 second period charge getting the lead and UBSC Graz was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 74-93. They outrebounded UBSC Graz 39-23 including a 28-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Gmunden Swans especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American swingman Jemal Farmer (195-89, college: Arkansas, agency: Blacktop Management) nailed 25 points for the winning side and naturalized German power forward Tilo Klette (206-77) accounted for 19 points and 6 rebounds. Lithuanian center Povilas Gaidys (208-91, college: Southeastern) came up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds and Slovenian guard Jure Pelko (190-90) added 13 points and 10 assists respectively for UBSC Graz in the defeat. Gmunden Swans moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Wels. UBSC Graz lost their third game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 20 games lost. Gmunden Swans' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Redwell Gunners Oberwart at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. UBSC Graz will play against Arkadia Lions (#4) in Traiskirchen and hope to win that game.
