Regular Season Round 28: ETB Wohnbau - Dragons 72-62

There was no surprise when 16th ranked Dragons Rhoendorf (2-26) lost to fourteenth ranked ETB Wohnbau (8-20) in Essen 62-72 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by ETB Wohnbau. Dragons Rhoendorf was better in fourth quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ETB Wohnbau made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 25 Dragons Rhoendorf turnovers. It was a very good performance for American guard Tre Bowman (196-91, college: Iona) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 4 steals. Center Christoph Hackenesch (204-86) contributed with 8 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Tim Schonborn (191-90) replied with 13 points and 4 assists and center Florian Wendeler (205-93) added 8 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Dragons Rhoendorf. Dragons Rhoendorf's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. ETB Wohnbau maintains fourteenth position with 8-20 record. Dragons Rhoendorf lost twelfth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 26 lost games. ETB Wohnbau will face higher ranked BV Chemnitz 99 (#7) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Dragons Rhoendorf will play against Koeln Rh.Stars (#12) and hope to win that game.
