Regular Season Round 28: Trier - Hanau 66-72

Date: March 13, 2016
There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked White Wings (13-15) beat higher ranked Gladiators (16-13) in Trier 72-66 on Sunday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-10. But Gladiators won second period 21-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. White Wings made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Gladiators were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Kruize Pinkins (201-93, college: USF) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import guard Luke Loucks (196-90, college: Florida St.) contributed with 4 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. American forward Dwayne Evans (198-92, college: St.Louis) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and Ghanian-American guard Kwadzo Ahelegbe (188-88, college: N.Iowa) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Gladiators. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gladiators' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. White Wings have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Gladiators at the other side keep the sixth position with 13 games lost. White Wings will face league's leader Science City Jena at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
