Regular Season Round 31: Juventus - Dzukija 82-75

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Juventus (15-13) beat bottom-ranked Dzukija (6-22) in Utena 82-75. The hosts were already 13 points ahead at halftime and as many as 15 after three quarters before a 25-17 last quarter charge of Dzukija cut the lead to 82-75 at the end of the game. Juventus made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Dzukija turnovers. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Egidijus Dimsa (204-85) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Naturalized Swiss guard Rolandas Alijevas (192-85) helped adding 15 points and 4 assists. Four Juventus players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Osvaldas Macernis (200-82) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Linas Lekavicius (186-84, college: American) scored 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Dzukija's coach Andrej Urlep rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Juventus have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Vytautas. Dzukija lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 22 lost games. Juventus will play against league's leader Zalgiris in Kaunas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dzukija will play on the road against Siauliai (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
