There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Pitesti (13-17) smashed at home 7th ranked CS Dinamo Bucuresti (13-16) 90-71. It looked good early as CS Dinamo Bucuresti took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Pitesti had a 28-16 second period charge getting the lead and CS Dinamo Bucuresti was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 71-90. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Jamar Diggs (188-88, college: Wofford, agency: Beo Basket) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 4 assists. Montenegrin guard Boris Bakic (193-86, agency: Beo Basket) accounted for 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Pitesti's coach Andeljko Mandic used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Bosnian-Serbian guard Marko Sutalo (194-83, agency: PEPI SPORT) came up with 19 points and 4 assists and Serbian center Darko Balaban (211-89, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 13 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for CS Dinamo Bucuresti in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pitesti have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain ninth place with 13-17 record. Newly promoted CS Dinamo Bucuresti dropped to the eighth position with 16 games lost. Pitesti's next round opponent will be higher ranked Phoenix Galati (#7) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
