Quarter-Finals Round 2: Marburg - Keltern 56-67

Keltern snatched a road win over Marburg to force the decider in the series. The game was mostly controlled by Gruner Stern Keltern. BC Pharmaserv Marburg managed to win fourth quarter 13-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gruner Stern Keltern forced 21 BC Pharmaserv Marburg turnovers. American center Mara Hjelle (185-89, college: Wayne St., NE) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and French point guard Magali Mendy (178-90) chipped in 17 points and 5 steals during the contest. The former international power forward Svenja Greunke (188-89) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and the former international Birte Thimm (180-87) scored 6 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
