Twelfth-ranked BBC Bayreuth (10-18) was very close to win a game against fourth ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (20-7) on Saturday. EnBW Ludwigsburg managed to secure only three-point victory 88-85. However their fans expected much easier game. American players dominated also this game. It was a very good performance for point guard Kerron Johnson (185-90, college: Belmont) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 5 assists. Forward Royce O'Neale (198-93, college: Baylor) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. EnBW Ludwigsburg's coach John Patrick used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Jake Odum (193-91, college: Indiana St.) replied with 21 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and forward John Flowers (200-89, college: W.Virginia, agency: Octagon Europe) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for BBC Bayreuth. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. EnBW Ludwigsburg maintains fourth position with 20-7 record. BBC Bayreuth lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 18 games lost. EnBW Ludwigsburg will face bottom-ranked Crailsheim Merlins (#18) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. BBC Bayreuth will play against Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#16) and hope to win that game.
