The game in Sibiu was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Craiova (19-12) played at the court of 5th ranked CSU Sibiu (16-15). Craiova managed to secure a 4-point victory 82-78 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of CSU Sibiu. CSU Sibiu was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Bogdan Popescu (202-78, college: Alaska-Fairb.) who scored 25 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). American point guard Aaron Johnson (173-88, college: UAB, agency: Two Points) chipped in 15 points and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was international point guard Octavian Calota (186-84) who recorded 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American center William Paul (208-88, college: Arkansas Tech) added 15 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively. Four CSU Sibiu players scored in double figures. CSU Sibiu's coach Dan Fleseriu rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Craiova have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 19-12 record. Loser CSU Sibiu keeps the fifth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Targu Mures. Craiova will meet Targu Mures (#5) on the road in the next round. CSU Sibiu will play against the league's leader Steaua CSM in Bucuresti and hope to secure a win.
