Regular Season Round 26: Chernomorets - Rilski 70-95

Very expected game when 10th ranked Chernomorets (2-24) was smashed by fourth ranked Rilski (17-9) in Burgas 95-70. The game was mostly controlled by Rilski. Chernomorets was better in second period 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game. The former international guard Zlatin Georgiev (197-85) scored 22 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Frank Turner (178-88, college: Canisius, agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Point guard Milen Dudev (178-94) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 assists and forward Konstantin Koev (196-91) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rilski maintains fourth position with 17-9 record. Chernomorets lost fourteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 24 lost games. Rilski will play against higher ranked Beroe (#3) in Stara Zagora in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Chernomorets will play at home against Cherno More (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
