There was an upset when higher ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (22-9) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Giessen 46ers (16-15) 90-81 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 53-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Giessen 46ers made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Giessen 46ers maintains ninth position with 16-15 record. Loser EnBW Ludwigsburg keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. Giessen 46ers will face BG Goettingen (#17) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. EnBW Ludwigsburg will play against Telekom Baskets (#13) in Bonn and hope to win that game.
