Very predictable result when ninth ranked Giessen 46ers (17-15) beat at home 17th ranked BG Goettingen (8-25) 74-66. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-12. But BG Goettingen won second period 19-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. British center Gabriel Olaseni (211-91, college: Iowa, agency: Pensack Sports) nailed a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and American guard Braydon Hobbs (196-89, college: Bellarmine) accounted for 18 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Ian Hummer (201-90, college: Princeton) came up with 19 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Terrell Everett (193-84, college: Oklahoma) added 16 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals respectively for BG Goettingen in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Giessen 46ers moved-up to eighth place. BG Goettingen at the other side keeps the seventeenth position with 25 games lost. Giessen 46ers' next round opponent will be higher ranked ALBA Berlin (#6) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
