Regular Season Round 29: Konyaspor - Istanbul BSB 87-101

Everything went according to plan when thirteenth ranked Istanbul BSB (10-19) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Konyaspor (6-23) 101-87 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Istanbul BSB. Konyaspor managed to win fourth quarter 25-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Istanbul BSB looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Konyaspor's players. American power forward Ben McCauley (206-86, college: N.Carolina St.) nailed 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and Metecan Birsen (205-95) accounted for 15 points and 5 rebounds. Istanbul BSB's coach Ertugrul Erdogan used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Dionte Christmas (196-86, college: Temple) came up with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Merthan Mutlu (190-94) added 19 points respectively for Konyaspor in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Istanbul BSB maintains thirteenth place with 10-19 record. Konyaspor lost sixteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 23 lost games. Istanbul BSB will meet at home higher ranked Galatasaray (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Konyaspor will play against Trabzonspor (#11) and hope to secure a win.
