Oberwart fired past Gmunden in the decisive fifth game of the quarterfinal series. The game was mostly controlled by Redwell Gunners Oberwart. Gmunden Swans managed to win second period 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Redwell Gunners Oberwart won last quarter 24-10. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Gmunden Swans' 28. Lithuanian center Adomas Drungilas (203-90) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and American guard Quincy Diggs (198-90, college: Akron, agency: Mansfield and Associates) chipped in 23 points and 6 rebounds. Four Redwell Gunners Oberwart players scored in double figures. American guard Jarvis Ray (198-90, college: TCU) responded with 33 points (!!!) and international point guard Daniel Friedrich (181-92) scored 18 points and 5 assists.
