Regular Season Round 1: Randers - Bakken 86-114
Date: September 30, 2016
The game in Randers supposed to be also worth to mention about. Bakken (1-0) played at the court of Randers (0-2). Bakken smashed Randers 114-86. Randers were tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Bakken forced 22 Randers turnovers and outrebounded them 39-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Senegalese center Michel Diouf (208-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. American forward Dwayne Benjamin (201-93, college: Oregon) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American-Belizean point guard Charles Burgess (186-84, college: Texas Tech) answered with 16 points and 6 assists and the former international swingman Chris Nielsen (192-85) added 15 points and 6 assists in the effort for Randers. Five Bakken and four Randers players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bakken will play against SISU (#7) in Copenhagen in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Randers will play on the road against Stevnsgade and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
