Regular Season Round 2: Licher Baeren - Dragons 94-76

Very important is a road loss of Dragons Rhoendorf (1-1) against Licher Basket (2-0) on Sunday night. Visiting Dragons Rhoendorf was defeated by Licher Basket in Lich 94-76. Licher Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Dragons Rhoendorf's 36. Licher Basket forced 20 Dragons Rhoendorf turnovers. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard K.K. Simmons (191-93, college: Pikeville) who scored 24 points and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Power forward Lamar Mallory (198-90, college: Glenville St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Mallory is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Licher Basket players scored in double figures. Forward Aaron Nelson (203-91, college: S.Indiana) produced a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) and guard Will Trawick (196-94, college: Emory) added 14 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Licher Basket will face Wuerzburg (#4) on the road in the next round. Dragons Rhoendorf will play against Giants and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the ProA just one year after relegation.
