It was a good game for American forward Gregory Graves (201-93, college: Mt.St.Mary's) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import center Kenneth Cooper (208-87, college: UAB) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Cooper is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Five Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. American point guard Gary Johnson (188-82, college: Cent.Florida) answered with 18 points and center Michael Haucke (210-85) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for AstroStars. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Artland Dragons will face SSV Lok Bernau (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. AstroStars will play against Recklinghausen and hope to win that game.
