Regular Season Round 4: Hamburg - MBC 78-74

Date: October 8, 2016
Mitteldeutscher BC (3-1) recorded its first loss on the court of twelfth ranked Hamburg on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Hamburg 78-74. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Mitteldeutscher BC. The winners were led by swingman Cornelius Adler (195-89) who scored that evening 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American power forward Robert Ferguson (203-85, college: St.Joseph's) supported him with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Hamburg players scored in double figures. Even 19 points by naturalized American forward Sergio Kerusch (195-89, college: W.Kentucky, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Mitteldeutscher BC. American point guard Marcus Hatten (185-80, college: St.John's) added 7 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for lost side. Mitteldeutscher BC's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hamburg (2-2) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Mitteldeutscher BC at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with 6 other teams. Hamburg will meet higher ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Mitteldeutscher BC will play against Nuernberg (#9) and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the BBL just one year after relegation.
