Regular Season Round 3: Bayer Giants - FC Bayern II 82-86

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Bayer Giants' (1-2) home loss to FC Bayern II (2-0) in Leverkusen 82-86 on Sunday. Bayer Giants were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Karim Jallow (196-97) who led his team to a victory with 29 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Bosnian Dejan Kovacevic (207-96, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four FC Bayern II players scored in double figures. FC Bayern II's coach Oliver Kostic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Kerry Carter (188-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) answered with 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Tim Schonborn (191-90) added 15 points and 5 assists in the effort for Bayer Giants. FC Bayern II will face Dragons Rhoendorf (#4) at home in the next round. Bayer Giants will play against Elchingen and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the ProA just one year after relegation.
