Regular Season Round 3: Gelisim - Samsun 77-72

There was a surprise result in Izmir where Gelisim (2-1) won against Samsun (2-1) 77-72 on Friday. Gelisim looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for Bosnian-Slovenia center Hasan Rizvic (212-84) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Murat Erensoy (201-91) helped adding 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Gelisim's coach Arda Vekiloglu allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American point guard Jerry Smith (188-87, college: Louisville, agency: HMS) with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and forward Hazer Avci (206-87, agency: Court Side) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Gelisim will meet Bandirma Kir. (#5) in the next round. Samsun will play against Turk Telekom and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
