Regular Season Round 4: Telsiai - Silute 83-76 OT

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Silute (3-1) in Telsiu. Visitors were defeated by Telsiai (3-1) in overtime 83-76. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Silute. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Silute won third quarter 30-25. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Silute used huge pressure winning it 16-11 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 4-11. Telsiai dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Silute's 32. Telsiai forced 26 Silute turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Mindaugas Norkus (200-85) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 4 steals and Gintautas Kybartas (201-94) who added 18 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Telsiai's coach Augenijus Vaskys allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side center Aurelijus Pukelis (205-94) responded with 23 points and 7 rebounds and Justas Nausedas (193-92) scored 18 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Telsiai keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Silute. Telsiai will play against Rasai (#3) in Raseiniai in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Silute will play on the road against Nafta-Uni. in Klaipeda and hopes to get back on the winning track.
