Regular Season Round 7: Kremen - Budivelnyk 68-88

Not a big story in a game in Kremenchuk where 9th ranked Kremen (1-5) was rolled over by sixth ranked Budivelnyk (5-3) 88-68 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Budivelnyk. Kremen managed to win third quarter 29-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Kremen to just 4 points in fourth quarter. Budivelnyk dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Kremen's 36. They outrebounded Kremen 38-18 including a 29-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Budivelnyk looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American forward Calvin Godfrey (206-90, college: Memphis) fired 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Lithuania center Michailis Anisimovas (214-84) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Power forward Andriy Malysh (203-83, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) produced 13 points and 5 rebounds and the former international guard Maxim Balashov (190-80, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Budivelnyk. They moved-up to second place. Kremen lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Budivelnyk will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kremen will play against Cherkasy (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
