There was no surprise in Ankara where 14th ranked Duzce Belediye (1-4) was outplayed by third ranked Turk Telekom (4-1) 94-69. The game without a history. Turk Telekom led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Turk Telekom forced 24 Duzce Belediye turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Duzce Belediye helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Ahmet Cantitiz (193-92) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. American point guard Tywain McKee (188-86, college: Coppin St.) contributed with 22 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Turk Telekom players scored in double figures. American center LaRon Dendy (205-88, college: Middle Tenn.St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Cihan Amasyali (191-83) added 12 points and 9 assists in the effort for Duzce Belediye. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Turk Telekom. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Duzce Belediye dropped to the fifteenth position with four games lost. Turk Telekom's next round opponent will be Bandirma Kir. (#10) in Balikesir and are hoping to win another game. Duzce Belediye will play at home against Eskisehir Basket (#5) and hope to win that game.
