Everything could happen in Istanbul at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Akhisar Bld and 10th ranked Pertevniyal had identical 2-2 record. But Pertevniyal was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Akhisar 82-68. The game was mostly controlled by Akhisar Bld. Pertevniyal was better in second period 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Tyler Smith (200-86, college: Tennessee) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import point guard Leemire Goldwire (184-85, college: Charlotte, agency: HMS) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Four Akhisar Bld players scored in double figures. Guard Cagdas Erdogan (188-88) answered with 14 points and 6 rebounds and Ege Arar (208-96) added 9 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Pertevniyal. Pertevniyal's coach Andac Yapicier rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Akhisar Bld (3-2) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Pertevniyal at the other side keeps the tenth position with three games lost. Akhisar Bld's next round opponent will be Bursaspor (#11) at home which should be theoretically an easy game. Pertevniyal will play against Mamak DSI in Ankara and hope to win that game.
