There was a surprise result in Ankara where sixteenth ranked Mamak DSI (2-4) beat higher ranked Pertevniyal (2-4) 109-93 on Friday. Mamak DSI shot 63.3 percent from the field and made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. Mamak DSI looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Pertevniyal's players. The best player for the winners was American power forward Arnett Moultrie (208-90, college: Mississippi St., agency: Interperformances) who scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. The other American import guard Ramel Bradley (188-85, college: Kentucky) chipped in 14 points and 8 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Ege Arar (208-96) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds and American point guard Derek Williams (185-85, college: SMU) added 27 points and 4 assists respectively. Four Mamak DSI and five Pertevniyal players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Mamak DSI moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Pertevniyal. Mamak DSI will face higher ranked Bursaspor (#7) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
