The game between closely ranked teams ended with eleventh ranked Tofas' (2-2) home victory over bottom-ranked Balikesir (0-4) 91-72 on Saturday. Tofas dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Balikesir's 26. They outrebounded Balikesir 32-21 including a 24-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tofas looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Dominican-American forward Ronald Roberts (203-91, college: St.Joseph's, agency: Pensack Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international point guard Baris Ermis (194-85) chipped in 10 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Tofas players scored in double figures. Tofas' coach Orhun Ene allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Belizean-American power forward Leon Williams (203-86, college: Ohio) produced 14 points and 6 rebounds and American-Nigeria Ike Ofoegbu (205-84, college: SMU) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Tofas moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. Balikesir at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with four games lost. Tofas will face league's leader Anadolu Efes in Istanbul in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Balikesir's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Balikesir Banvit.
