Regular Season Round 6: Naestved - Randers 76-88

The game in Naestved was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Randers (4-3) played at the court of 6th ranked Naestved (2-3). Randers defeated Naestved 88-76 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Randers. Naestved was better in third quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Randers dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Naestved's 32. They outrebounded Naestved 49-31 including 35 on the defensive glass. American-Belizean point guard Charles Burgess (186-84, college: Texas Tech) had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the charge for the winners and DR Congolese-Canadian forward Eric Kibi (198-90, college: Abil.Christian) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was swingman Philip Hertz (194-92, college: Rio Grande) with 20 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Phillip Nolan (208-93, college: Connecticut, agency: Two Points) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Randers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Svendborg. Loser Naestved keeps the sixth position with three games lost. Randers will face league's second-placed Bakken in Aarhus in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Naestved will play on the road against Svendborg (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
